AWARD project (1st Jan 2024 – 31st Dec 2026) addresses the urgent challenges of water scarcity and climate change by promoting the integration of society, science, and policy in water management. It aims to provide evidence-based approaches for including Alternative Water Resources (AWRs) in water supply planning. The project features 4 demonstration cases across Europe, focusing on AWRs like stormwater, rainwater, and aquifer recharge. These cases will assess the potential to scale up AWR use, supported by AWARD’s tools, including a Digital Platform and Local Water Fora, to enhance water supply strategies at various scales.
